The custom ordering process at Knoll typically begins with a consultation with the expert design team. Whether you're furnishing a residential space, a commercial project, or a hospitality venue, the team will work closely with you to understand your needs, aesthetic preferences, and functional requirements. This collaborative approach ensures that every aspect of the customization process is aligned with your vision.

Take a seat at the table, and let's get designing!

You are encouraged to bring the swatch samples around the showroom, so you can see them under different lights. To get the most accurate sense of the color and texture, I suggest placing them under natural sunlight.

Collaboration lies at the heart of Knoll's design ethos. Designers and clients come together to exchange ideas, challenge conventions, and push the boundaries of what's possible. Through a process of iterative ideation, concepts are refined, renderings are generated, and the vision begins to take shape. There is a cabinet full of swatches and samples for you to browse.

One of the most exciting aspects of customizing furniture at Knoll is the opportunity to select from a wide range of materials, finishes, and upholstery options. Whether you prefer the warmth of wood, the sophistication of leather, or the modernity of metal, Knoll offers an extensive palette of high-quality materials to choose from. From luxurious textiles to premium finishes, every detail is customizable to reflect your personal style.

There are different grades of leather finishes, and some are exclusive to Knoll.

Note some retailers like Design Within Reach may not offer the full finishes.

I love colorful leather!

Knoll offers a handful of choices for its outdoor furniture collection, as well. Its bestselling 1966 Collection is most popular in all white or black finish; however, colors are quickly gaining popularity as more clients are hoping to introduce colors to their outdoor spaces.

For example, this 1966 Two Seat Lounge has a rich brown accent, creating a stark contrast between the white frame and mesh seat.

Or if you're hoping for a more subtle approach, a taupe-colored metallic mesh seat offers a subtle yet unmistakable contrast.

Many of Knoll's iconic furniture such as the Jehs+Laub Lounge Chair, MR Chaise Lounge, or Divina Lounge Chair, come in various finish options, giving you the freedom to fully customize your space.

In addition to selecting materials and dimensions, customizing furniture at Knoll allows you to incorporate personalized details and features into your pieces. From subtle design elements to functional enhancements, the possibilities are virtually endless.

Every piece is thoughtfully engineered to enhance comfort, ergonomics, and usability, ensuring that form always follows function.

My favorite piece in the showroom would be this Barcelona couch.

What a refreshing and vibrant color!

Once your custom furniture is ready, Knoll will coordinate the delivery and installation process to ensure a seamless experience from start to finish. Whether you're furnishing a single room or an entire space, Knoll's dedicated team will work diligently to bring your vision to life with precision and care.

Customizing furniture at Knoll is a collaborative and personalized journey that allows you to create bespoke pieces tailored to your unique style, space, and lifestyle. With a commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and innovation, Knoll ensures that every custom creation is a reflection of your individuality and needs.
