This is our last purchase from the Beverly Hills Art Show, and we dare say, that this collection of bear paintings may be our favorite. Just look at these happy bear cubs!

Paola Luther

These are by an award-winning representational artist named Paola Luther. She has worked on traditional art in all mediums (oil, watercolors. pastels, gouache, colored pencil, and acrylic) for over 15 years.

Luther loves the colors and the way they contrast and reflect against the light. We spoke to Luther at the booth, and she told us that she gets inspired by strong colors and Californian landscapes. Below are some of her portfolio.

Time Well Spent 33 x 56"

$4,800.00

Sunset Harvest

$3,200.00

So Many Signs

$5,500.00

The booth was filled with hyper-realistic original paintings with varying subjects and landscapes. She possesses a magical ability to make even the most mundane landscape or object extraordinary.

These cats' and dogs' portraits capture their facial expressions so accurately. She doesn't miss even the smallest detail that makes a painting look like a photo - a whisker, a tinge of white when the light casts and gets reflected on eyes ...

We've never seen cuter animal portraits than these though! Luther told us she implemented a playful expression of a puppy when she was painting these bears, and we totally see the rambunctious and curious gaze of puppies. We believe there were 10 bear paintings on display at the booth, and we carefully chose 4. Believe us, we wanted to bring all of them home, but we settled on 4.

Which one is your favorite?

The bear with a honeybee has the mischievous look of a puppy who's about to pull some shinanigan, ha!

The strokes are impeccable, and each painting is so beautiful in person.

The edges of the bears have 3D effects, and these bears surely make you happy.

She also does custom art, so you can commission her to paint custom pet/human portraits or cityscapes of your favorite places.

She can do them in either watercolor or oil.

I hope you vicariously enjoyed the Beverly Hills Art Show we attended and the artworks we purchased. Beautiful art possesses an innate ability to heal and uplift the human spirit, transcending the boundaries of language and culture. It serves as a profound source of solace and inspiration, offering a sanctuary for emotional expression and introspection. Whether it be a bold abstract art, mesmerizing painting, or whimsical portraits of animals, art has the remarkable power to evoke deep-seated emotions and provoke introspection, fostering a sense of connection and empathy.

Until next time,
