Twelve South's HiRise for MacBook is a laptop stand that is sturdy and well-made.
I needed a laptop stand for my home office desk, and the design and construction of this solid piece have really completed my home office setup.
First, the packaging.
The HiRise laptop stand comes packaged in a high-quality cardboard box with plenty of padding. The stand is intended for Macbooks, and the general vibe and impression mimic that of Apple products.
Comes with the instructions on adjusting the height of the stand.
The surface has rubber grippings, so the laptop doesn't slide down.
The slightly downward stand is ergonomically designed and keeps my hands comfortable in case I need to type something. I personally use a separate Bluetooth keyboard, so it's not a huge plus, but it's still a thoughtful feature.
You can manually adjust the height using the knob at the back of the stand.
The range is quite limited, but it suits the height requirements of most people.
The finish goes well with my space gray MacBook.
Mine currently has a laptop sleeve, so the color's off, but they look very good together.
But the finish is almost an identical match to Apple's Silver finish. It made sense, though, as Silver is a more popular Apple finish. I think space gray might have been discontinued.
True, it leans on the pricier side, but it's definitely a solid product that I'd appreciate for years to come.
