I agree with Alo going viral in LA. There's a giant Alo store in almost every shopping complex (the Grove, Westfield Century City, Rodeo, Palisades Village, Santa Monica ...), and it's packed with people even on weekdays.
This was during the Westfield Century City location opening last week, lol.
Alo is super popular in LA, especially for that trendy athleisure look. You’ll see a ton of people rocking Alo gear at fitness classes, cafes, and even just running errands around the city. It’s got that cool, laid-back vibe that fits perfectly with the LA lifestyle. Whether you're doing yoga, grabbing coffee in West Hollywood, or hitting up Erewhon, Alo is definitely a brand you’ll spot everywhere. It’s kind of become a go-to for looking stylish while still being comfortable.
I agree the quality is subpar to Lululemon if you're looking for performance, but Alo is really popular in LA. That laid-back, dressed-down SoCal look is what Alo is pushing for, and it seems like every 20 and 30 somethings is wearing Alo. I've tried a few Alo pieces, and I actually quite like the Accolade sweatshirts and sweatpants.
If you're shopping for casual athleisure looks that you can wear when you're running errands, Alo is a good contender. For actual workouts? Lululemon.
I’d definitely go with Lululemon over Alo, especially when it comes to materials and fit. Lulu’s fabrics just feel more durable and higher quality, and their technical specs are on point. The way their clothes move with you, especially during workouts, is unbeatable. I’ve found that Lululemon's pieces have better moisture-wicking, breathability, and overall functionality, which makes a big difference when you're working up a sweat. And nothing comes close to the Align (the Nulu fabric in general). The fit is also way more consistent for me—everything just feels more tailored and flattering. Alo’s stuff is cute for athleisure, but when it comes to performance, Lululemon wins hands down.

I think Alo does athletic skirts beautifully.
A lot of Alo' skirts or skorts feature A-line skirt silhouettes, and they look more flattering than other brands.
