I'm looking for remedies for fighting light insomnia. I do not wish to get anything strong prescribed, and I'm hoping to try something OTC or herbal supplements. Please share your experiences with supplements that have worked for you.
I’ve been having a difficult time falling asleep lately, and it has been seriously disrupting my schedule. Waking up in the morning was disastrous because I felt groggy and not at all rested, but I could not fall asleep at bedtime. I did not want to try melatonin, though because I heard people can get addicted to it. For that reason, I was skeptical to try Olly’s Sleep gummies because they contain melatonin and L-Theanine. I read various reviews, and they seemed to agree that the contents were small enough and would not interfere. I’m so glad I bought these because I’ve been getting the best sleep the past few days.
You’re supposed to take 2 of these gummies 30 minutes before bedtime. These contain melatonin (naturally occurring sleep hormones), L-Theanine (amino-acid that encourages calmness), chamomile, passionflower, and lemon balm extracts (botanicals that help you relax). And they work like magic!
Some reviewers mentioned that these have unpleasant flavor and texture, but I’m confused because they taste amazing. According to Olly, these gummies have a “blissful blackberry with a fresh hint of mint” flavor, and I find them to be very tasty and chewy.
There is a stronger version, but for now, these do the trick and I fall right asleep. I bought the extra-strength ones for "emergency", but I haven't tried them out yet. Also, they come in pills, not gummies. Even with the regular strength sleep gummies, I turn on Netflix and drift off definitely within an hour. The only problem I have is that I need to brush my teeth after chewing them, but that’s not really a dealbreaker. I find these to be far more effective than melatonin chocolates.
They are so worth it. Amazon’s Prime Now (the groceries delivery app) occasionally runs a promotion on these, and that’s when the price gets most competitive.
I've been very successful with Olly's Sleep gummies.
I began taking these melatonin gummies since the pandemic started, and they've been working well for me. I take the recommended dosage an hour before my bedtime, and I fall asleep naturally.
Also, the taste is quite pleasant. The gummies taste a lot better than other "vitamin gummies", and they're like little bedtime treats, haha.
I also take these whenever I'm traveling to a different time zone, so I won't be as jet-lagged. I sleep terribly every time I travel, but these gummies have alleviated the sleep problem for sure. They definitely help me fall asleep and allow me to get the sleep I need.
Olly's Sleep gummies contain a blend of melatonin, L-Theanine, and other botanicals (chamomile extract, passionflower extract, and lemon balm extract).
Any tips on remedying sleeplessness?
