Dirty Sodas Sounded Ridiculous… Until I Tried One.
I genuinely thought dirty sodas were one of the dumbest trends — soda + cream + syrup just sounded like sugar overload for no reason. But I tried one out of curiosity (Dr Pepper + coconut + cream), and it was… weirdly addictive.
It doesn’t taste like straight soda anymore — it’s more like a dessert drink, almost like a melted float but smoother. I wouldn’t drink it every day, but as an occasional treat, I get the hype now. It feels customizable in a fun way too, which I think is why people get into it.
That said, I do think it’s easy to overdo and end up with something way too sweet, so it’s one of those trends where the right combo matters a lot.
I fully rolled my eyes at the whole “swicy” trend at first — it felt like one of those things that exists purely for TikTok. But then I tried Mike’s Hot Honey on pizza and it completely flipped my opinion. It’s one of those flavors that sounds gimmicky until you taste how balanced it actually is. The sweetness isn’t overwhelming, and the heat comes in just enough to make everything more interesting.
Since then I’ve been putting it on way more than I expected — fried chicken, roasted veggies, breakfast sandwiches, and even a cheese board. It’s one of the few trends that actually made me change how I eat, not just something I tried once for fun. Definitely not a one-time novelty.
Food Trends You Actually Bought Into (and Didn’t Regret)

$–$$$ (depends on trend)
Something that was genuinely hyped/trending
You actually tried it (not just saw it online)
Ended up being worth it — not just aesthetic
Repurchase-worthy or something you’d recommend
There are so many food trends lately — and honestly, most of them feel like they’re designed for content, not actual enjoyment.
