Packing for Our First Football Game: Am I Missing Anything?

For Whom/What:

watching an NFL game with a 10-month-old baby boy

Budget:

if it's absolutely necessary and reusable, up to $100 per item

Extra Details:

My husband and I are huge football fans, and we are planning on taking our 10-month-old to an NFL game. We'd like to be prepared and enjoy the game as a family outing. These are what I have so far: a stadium-approved clear bag, change of clothes, hat, extra diapers, baby wipes, snacks, and ear muffs. I will pack the formula at the very last minute. Am I missing anything? For those who've been to a game with a baby, what items (even unexpected ones) turned out to be useful?

Your packing list is already excellent and well-prepared for a fun NFL outing with your baby. Here are a few additional items and tips that might come in handy based on my experiences.

  1. Portable Changing Pad: Stadium restrooms can be tight and busy, so having a clean surface for diaper changes is a lifesaver.
  2. Baby Carrier or Sling: While strollers may not be permitted in some stadiums, a baby carrier lets you keep your hands free and your baby cozy.
  3. Lightweight Blanket: Useful for covering the baby during chilly moments or for sitting on if needed.
  4. Hand Sanitizer: For quick clean-ups since stadium surfaces can be germy.
  5. Small Fan: If it’s a warmer game day, this can help keep your baby comfortable.

Looks good - especially the ear muffs as the stadium gets LOUD.

Depending on the weather, I'd suggest a jacket or a rechargeable, portable fan.
