Thoughts on Drunk Elephant's B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum

Extra Details:

For those who've used Drunk Elephant's B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum, do you like the serum? Does it do what it claims to do - provides "intense" hydration? I live in a dry and arid area, and it's been hard finding a hydrating serum that doesn't break me out while keeping me hydrated overnight.

I worship Drunk Elephant products – the fantastic quality, super cute packaging, and the whole kaboom. No wonder they’re Sephora’s bestsellers.

I have normal skin that gets dehydrated in colder months. When seasons change, I feel it with my skin – as soon as Labor Day has passed, my skin feels tighter, and I spend a longer time fixing my makeup. I’ve done all sorts of things – drinking water, home facial treatments, facial mist, etc. Drinking water helps, but I don’t want to drink gallons of water, especially when I know that I’m going to be stuck in traffic. And facial masks work great, but my skin goes back to its dehydrated self after a few hours. And I find applying facial mist is not as effective as it claims. I felt like it dried my skin even more. And then I met the B-Hydra serum.

There are a ton of new skincare products popping out every day, so I approached this with skepticism. How could it possibly be? Some kind of watery serum, I guess. That’s what I thought when I received a deluxe sample of it. I used it along with my regular moisturizers, and before I knew it, I was ordering the full size.

My skin’s chronic tightness had disappeared, and I felt comfortable all day long. No tightness, no flaking around my lips, and most importantly, a glowy complexion!!!! My skin was glowing as if I was using a filter. Ok. I’m sold.

I may be a bit premature to say this, but this is a holy grail serum for me. I’m now an avid user of most Drunk Elephant products, and I’m loving the way my skin feels and looks.

The only downside I can think of is its price; however, I can justify it for those who’re on the verge of purchasing but are hesitant because of the price. This serum has a magical ability to transform any drugstore moisturizer into something better and more potent. The B-Hydra serum’s molecule sizes are designed to retain the moisture of other moisturizers, helping them realize their full moisturizing potential.

I hope Drunk Elephant comes up with a jumbo size – I’ll buy it instantly!

I use Retin-A, and therefore dryness is my biggest concern lately. I slather on moisturizers to keep my skin from flaking and to reduce redness, but my Retin-A-induced skin has this magical ability to drain that moisture out. I must’ve been going through a jar of moisturizer in a week because I was constantly reapplying it. I got Drunk Elephant B-Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Serum from a sales associate from Sephora as a sample to try. She was very sympathetic toward my concern and suggested this serum.

The B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum is like a hybrid between a serum and moisturizer, and it is supposed to attract moisture so that whichever moisturizer I put on gets absorbed and stay on longer.

I was surprised to discover that it actually does exactly what it claims to do. It really keeps my skin hydrated longer, and I visibly use my moisturizer much less ever since I started using this serum.

Soon later, I bought the full size, and I’m so excited to have finally found a solution to retin-A side effects.

The bottle features a twist-open pump mechanism that is great for traveling. It doesn’t have a separate cap, but the pump gets neatly tucked in when I rotate the blue top counterclockwise. Once it’s tucked in, it doesn’t leak any product out. And when it’s time to use it, I simply need to rotate it clockwise to pop the pump back up. Genius!

I do wish the bottle was transparent so I can see the remaining serum. I’m now afraid that I’d run out of this!

If you’re desperately dealing with dryness from retin-A, please, please give this serum a try. I know I was pretty miserable. I’m not sponsored by Drunk Elephant or any of its affiliates. I’m just sharing my experience with this serum.
