I purely came across this soap per recommendation from one of the Youtubers I subscribe to. She was raving about the versatility of the soap and its impressive cleansing ability.
If you are familiar with Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap, then it should be easy for you to picture the texture and consistency of the soap because it’s very similar. I’ve used both soaps now, and I’ll say the Raw Black Soap is slightly thicker in consistency. It’s still runny, but it’s thicker than the watery texture of Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap.
I’ve only used Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint soap, so my comparison will be with that particular scent. I always thought that the peppermint soap was a bit too harsh on my skin. Many people like peppermint soap due to its tingling and minty property; however, I always thought that it was a bit too cooling and aggravating. Pity, because I did love the minty scent.
The Raw Black Soap, on the other hand, is not at all stingy. The Original Raw Black Soap contains shea butter for enhanced moisturizing abilities and is made with 99.3% natural ingredients. And this soap makes my skin SO SOFT!
As the name suggests, the soap is “black” - correction: it’s darker colored. The soap reminds me of Manuka honey, in terms of texture and color, ha.
This multi-purpose soap has endless uses, and this is the main reason I love Castile soaps. The fact that I don’t have to buy separate soaps for various different tasks is a huge plus for me. It can be used as hand/body wash, shampoo, detergent (for hand washing garments), pet shampoo, and other cleaning tasks. Suitable for all skin types and all ages, it is a great all-around soap. Oh, FYI, diluted soap makes a great household cleaner - much cheaper than what the grocery stores sell as “multi-purpose” cleaners.
Method never disappoints. Method’s Body leaves my skin soft and is very easy to lather if I use a bath sponge. This is the second time I’m purchasing body wash from Method. I’ve used the pink bottle previously (Method has several different fragrances), which I loved, but it was unfortunately sold out when I was about to order a new one. I bought the “Simply Nourish” but wasn’t sure if I was going to like it because I’m not a huge coconut fan.
I gave it a sniff, and to tell you the truth, I did not like it at first! But weirdly, when I lathered and used it in the shower, it felt a lot more pleasant and refreshing, even. It doesn’t smell as heavily of coconut as I initially detected, and I’m loving the milky scent and texture that this body wash has. This is growing on me, and it might be better than the other one I previously used and loved.
