Extra Details:
What are your go-to shoes for comfort? I'm traveling to Europe in a few weeks, and there will be a ton of walking. Also I'm hoping they're stylish as I intend to take photos like a typical tourist, lol.
Hoka. I have the Clifton 9, and it's built for traveling. It's intended for everyday running, but most people wear it for just about everything - running errands, long shifts, travel, etc. It’s known for being lightweight, with a cushioned sole that provides a soft, responsive feel, making long runs or walks feel a lot easier on your feet and joints.
I find them to be very roomy in the front, and they don't constrict my feet even when they are swollen. They run true to size.
Not the prettiest sneakers (personally I'm not a fan of the logo), but if you get neutral colors, they go with everything. Hope this helps and enjoy your trip!
For long walks and traveling, I'd recommend On Cloudnova.
They’re lightweight, super comfy, and stylish enough to wear from the plane to exploring a new city. The cushioning is great for walking long distances, and they give you that cloud-like feel without being bulky. I find them easy to slip on and off, which is a must for passing through airport security.
I got them while I was attending CES. As you can imagine, it required A LOT of walking - my step count each day was over 25,000 steps. The first night was ok - my feet were swollen but tolerable. The next day? brutal. My sneakers felt so uncomfortable that I needed to get a better pair, fast. There was a Skechers store within walking distance from the hotel I was staying, and I picked up this pair. It's been my go-to sneakers for traveling, conventions, and expos.
I'm not sure the exact model and color of these, but they're one of the Slip-Ins. No need to tie your shoelaces (they're for aesthetics), and you can slip into them, hands-free.
And it seems like they're always on sale or doing some kind of buy 1, get 50% off promo.
They are not the typical "sneakers" recommended for traveling, but they're sooooooo comfortable. The shoes mould into your feet, and they feel comfortable even when your feet are swollen. They tend to stretch over time, so I suggest you get your regular size. It's better that the shoes fit snug at first because they will stretch and become the most comfortable pair you own. It sucks they're always sold out, but they do restock every now and then. So if you see your size, snag a pair. It'll be sold out before you know it.
