These curry blocks taste so much better than powdered curry, and they dissolve just fine as long as you stir them.
There are 3 flavors - mild, medium hot, and hot. I've tasted them all, and I highly recommend the hot curry. It's not very spicy, but I find the taste to be richer and more flavorful. If you can't tolerate heat, though, you can mix the medium hot and hot together to tone down the spice.
Also, here's a little tip to make the curry taste 100 times better. I add diced tomatoes. None of the Japanese instant curry I've tasted instructs you to add tomatoes, but seriously, tomatoes are a game-changer.
I like to cook my curry in a cast iron pot for an extended time, and it also improves the flavor.
