What can I use to tidy up loose electrical cords in my office? I have various cables, cords from computers, printers, etc. They look so unruly and unorganized. Not to mention, dust bunnies settle in between the cords. What do you recommend for cable organizations?
Yamazaki's products represent Japanese simplicity with functionality.
A pile of cables around my desk area was a source of my constant headache every time I walked into my home office. The desk was in the middle of the room, so the cables were so visible and driving me nuts. I bought this cable box to organize and cover up the cables, and it's really improved the cord problem. The best scenario I hope is to not have any cables (it's a joke, haha), but offices are always filled with electrical cords. At least I have this sleek, modern box to hide them.
Available in 3 colors - white, brown, and taupe, the box hides bulky cords and power strips. My box is brown.
The Cable Box is made of ABS plastic, and it keeps electronics safe, dust-free and most importantly, out of sight.
I used to think a pile of untidy cords that are hanging around my home office desk was a part of connected life. Yes, it gave me a headache every time I look at the pile, but hey, I need power. These tangled cords, however, became a little more than a nuisance and an actual problem when I got a Roomba. Every time I ran my Roomba, the loose cords inevitably got tangled, preventing the Roomba to finish its cleaning. And the tangled cords are so beaten up and frequently damaged. Some sort of organization was necessary.
I initially bought a cable box from Yamazaki; however, I ended up returning it because I didn’t like the color too much. Although the website said “black”, it was most definitely dark brown. Since my home office consists of silver, white and black, the flashy, dark brown box looked too out of place. I also didn’t like how flimsy it was - it was one of the more expensive cable boxes there was, and the quality was not there at all. The shiny plastic box felt cheap and tacky.
And I discovered this CableBox from BlueLounge. I was actually surprised that I didn’t find this sooner because I love BlueLounge products. I exclusively use their CableDrops (cord placeholders) because theirs is the best, bar none. Anyway, I ordered it right away, and I’m again very satisfied.
This cable box is truly black and matches all my other black office accessories nicely.
Just in case you’re wondering, it is flame retardant, LOL. Hope nothing catches fire in my office or god forbid, no one sets my house on fire.
The box consists of the cable box where you house the pile of cords, including extension cords and a tight-fitting lid to hide the chaotic pile of mess.
The main box also has slits on both ends so the cords can flow through - this is the crucial feature of cable organizers and cable boxes because you do not want the cords to be squeezed in any way. I had no problem running through thicker cords like my iMac cords and extension cord.
It also has rubber feet to keep the box from shifting around. I really appreciate this feature because my Roomba constantly bumps into the box.
BlueLounge has included a set of “cable ties” to organize smaller cords inside the cable box. The ties are not typical cable ties I know, though. They are quite flimsy and frankly useless (I tossed them away), ha. But they might be useful to someone.
This Under Desk Cable Router is a great solution for office clutter. Yamazaki is known for sleek, functional designs, and this cable router can help you keep messy cords and cables tucked away under your desk, giving your workspace a cleaner, more organized look. It not only hides the tangle of wires but also has designated sections to keep everything neatly in place, making it easier to plug in and access devices. If you're aiming for a minimalist, clutter-free setup without major investment, this could be a worthwhile addition to your office.
