The sneakers I end up wearing the most — with jeans, casual work outfits, airport travel, basically everything — are the Common Projects Original Achilles Low.

They’re one of those sneakers that look almost too simple at first, but that’s exactly why they work with everything. It’s a super minimal all-white leather sneaker with almost no branding except the small gold serial numbers on the side, and the leather quality is noticeably better than most sneakers. They’re made in Italy with a full leather upper and lining, so they feel more like a casual dress shoe than a gym sneaker.

I originally bought them thinking they’d be a “nice outfit” shoe, but they ended up becoming my daily pair. I wear them with chinos and a button-down for work, denim on weekends, and even with casual suits when I want something more relaxed. They’re one of those rare sneakers that don’t scream “athletic shoe,” so they actually look appropriate in a lot of work environments.

They’re definitely a splurge compared to typical sneakers, but if you want one pair that genuinely works across daily wear, office casual, travel, and weekends, this is the pair I reach for without thinking.
