My dog used to love this green rubber dog bone chew toy. You can get something similar at almost any pet store like Petco or Petsmart. They're usually by a giant value toy bin by the checkout stand.
Bringing a new puppy home is going to fill your family with precious memories, but destructive teething is never fun. I remember when I first had a puppy (with my parents), he destroyed everything in the house. No chair leg was intact and every baseboard was chewed off. My parents laughed it off, but I don’t intend to blow my paycheck for a bunch of house repairs and furniture touchups. In order to prevent the damage caused by your puppy, you need to 1) crate your puppy when you can’t supervise him/her, and 2) give the puppy plenty of chew toys to chew and destroy.
Along with many chew toys, I’ve grabbed a box of Healthy Edibles by Nylabone. These are edible treats that are long-lasting and going to keep my Pomsky preoccupied.
I bought the variety pack with roast beef and chicken flavor. She goes absolutely crazy for both flavors. It’s such a high-rewarding treat that I’m using it to crate-train her.
It takes a long time for her to finish one, and she gets dead silent!
But these are not rawhides or antlers, so depending on the size of your dog or his/her determination to finish it, the lasting time will vary. I’ve given one to a Rottweiler puppy that comes to the puppy school that I go to, and he chewed it down like a biscuit, lol.
Such a great rewarding treat that keeps my dog engaged and happy.
