Everything in SK’s Donut is so tasty and delicious. I have to resist myself stopping for a donut every day, but I could eat like a dozen donuts, seriously.

The donuts aren’t overly greasy, and they don’t have a gross oily aftertaste of stale donuts.

All the donuts are super fresh, and the place is always packed with customers, so you know the circulation’s good. The servers are friendly, which is always a plus.

My go-to donuts are the Strawberry Cheesecake and a classic chocolate glazed donut.

They also have a plenty of vegan options.

I'd say Voodoo Doughnut. It’s because they take donuts to a whole new level! Their menu is packed with wild and creative flavors you won’t find anywhere else, and the presentation is always so fun. Plus, the vibe of the shop itself is super quirky and laid-back, which fits perfectly with LA's eclectic food scene. Whether it’s the classic Voodoo Doll or something outrageous like their bacon maple bar, they’ve nailed that perfect mix of flavor and Instagram-worthy appeal. It’s the kind of place you’d go for an experience, not just a regular donut.

Sidecar Doughnuts is my absolute favorite because they make their doughnuts fresh every hour, ensuring you get them warm and perfectly crafted. Their creative flavors, like the Huckleberry or Butter & Salt, combine unique ingredients with a perfect texture—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. They use high-quality, seasonal ingredients, and you can really taste the difference. The whole experience feels artisanal yet indulgent - the Santa Monica location is where I frequent the most, and it's so worth the drive there. My favorites are Huckleberry, Choc-a-lot, and Maple Bacon.

And it is technically a franchise, but it beats all the small mom and pop donut shops I've tried.
