I love my Brabantia Bo Touch Bin trash can, but finding the matching trash bag has been a nightmare in the US. The trash can is divided into 2 different sections, and both sizes are unconventional trash bag sizes here in the US. Have you had any luck finding other trash bags that fit these bins? One section holds a 3.2 USA gallon bag, and the other holds a 5.3-6.6 USA gallon bag.
Many people assume Simplehuman trash bags are only compatible with Simplehuman’s trash cans. Yes, Simplehuman trash bags provide the most precise and custom fit to their corresponding cans; however, they are also compatible with other trash cans.
Simplehuman’s trying so hard to prevent people from buying cheaper alternatives to their liners by converting gallons into liters. But honestly, I believe Simplehuman should advertise to wider audiences who’re looking for sturdier and stronger trash bags. They’re simply better and more solidly constructed, and many people are willing to invest in them, so they can avoid frustration with ripped trash bags.
Anyway, I’ve been using Simplehuman trash bags (liner code P) for years. I never had a single bag that ripped or leaked in the trash can, no matter how much trash I squeezed in there. Because the unit price for these bags is higher than Glad trash bags, I try my best to get the most out of each bag. And even then, these bags have been amazing. In addition to the main trash can in the kitchen, I recently purchased a Brabantia trash can (Bo Touch Bin). It’s a dual, compartmentalized trash can that is just so pretty to look at, and I’m very happy with the purchase.
The problem with Brabantia trash cans, is finding the matching trash liners. Brabantia is a Dutch company that doesn’t have a huge market share in the US market, and as a result, finding trash bags was quite difficult. Even if I found the seller, usually through Amazon or eBay, the prices fluctuated way too much. I didn’t think that was a sustainable solution, especially for recurring purchases like buying trash bags. I looked at the Simplehuman trash bag lineup, just to see if any of its liners was compatible with my Brabantia can, and hallelujah! Found the perfect match.
I have a smaller Bo Touch, and it takes 2 inner buckets – one with 10-12L capacity and the other that holds 20-25L. I was able to find the 20-25L Brabantia trash bags on Amazon, and they were reasonably priced (read: cheaper than Simplehuman). The 10-12L trash bags, however, were astronomically priced. For your reference, the corresponding Brabantia trash bag for 10-12L is liner code X.
Simplehuman’s C liner fits perfectly, and it’s much more widely available in the US. I usually bulk order my liners from Bed Bath and Beyond, using the 20% mail-in coupons that every American household gets, and that really brings down the price.
The C liners are intended for Simplehuman’s 8L to 12L step cans, and they fit like gloves!
These liners are just like any other Simplehuman trash liners – extra durable, feature a perfect fit, and are easy to dispense.
Depending on the number of trash bags you buy, the packaging might be different. Usually, each pack of trash liners consists of 20 liners. And by tearing out the opening on the back, you can pull out a single trash liner at a time.
Brabantia trash liners were great because they’re compostable and feature pre-punctured holes; however, I will happily have to go with Simplehuman.
