I've tried a handful of oat milk and almond milk in the market, but they don't come close to regular milk in terms of taste and froth. Any suggestions or tips to make my morning lattes better, I'd greatly appreciate them.
Oatly's oat milk is so yummy and seriously is the perfect base for lattes.
Oatly doesn't taste like typical oat milk at all. Regular oat milk tastes like cardboard to me, but Oatly is different.
I drink the regular Full Fat Oatly with cereal or granola and use the Barista Edition specifically for lattes.
The Barista Edition is formulated for lattes, and Oatly lattes honestly taste better than regular milk lattes. However, please note that the Oatly lattes have their unique flavor and taste, so if you're expecting them to taste "just like milk lattes", Oatly may not be the option.
I’ve been testing out various oat milk in the market because so many people seem to be raving about the benefits and rich flavors of oat milk. Costco’s Oat Milk was the very first oat milk I’ve tried, and I honestly was seriously disappointed. Maybe I was expecting too much, but I did not like the taste of it at all. I ended up tossing them (which I bought in bulk!) because I could not make it work - with cereal, lattes, or straight out of the carton - I just thoroughly did not enjoy the flavor. So instead of committing to a large gallon of oat milk without even trying it, I tested with smaller single-serving oat milk or oat milk lattes, and it soon became evident that I’m loving the OATLY lattes. I’m guessing whoever loves oat milk lattes is referring to OATLY.
OATLY is a vegan food brand from Sweden that produces dairy products from oats. Although OATLY is most well known for its oat milk, it also produces oat yogurt and ice cream. I have not yet tried those, but I can’t wait to get my hands on them.
Oatly offers chocolate-flavored oat milk, as well; however, the Oat Drink Barista Edition is my favorite as it has an incredibly rich, nutty flavor that really enhances the coffee flavor. Many milk alternatives have such distinctive flavors, and they tend to interfere with the overall flavor. Not Oatly. It blends so well with espressos or cold brew concentrate, depending on how you brew your coffee, but either way results in an amazingly smooth flavor that is irresistible.
The Barista Edition is ideal for mixing with coffee, hence the name Barista.
Frankly, Oat milk lattes taste better than full-fat milk lattes. Nowadays many coffee shops like Starbucks or Stumptown offer OATLY as a substitute for cow milk. And every time I’m getting coffee outside, I now ask if they have Oatly in stock. That’s how addicted I am!
I admit, Oatly is quite hard to find in most grocery stores. Oatly products are usually found at organic grocery stores like Whole Foods, but depending on your location, the stores may not carry the full Oatly lineup. It has been difficult to find the Barista Edition in my case, and I was looking for ways to get it more conveniently than driving around multiple stores. And guess what? Oatly delivers! And for free. For obvious reasons, Oatly doesn’t offer delivery on perishable items like ice cream or yogurt, but you can get its oat milk delivered or set up a subscription. That works for me.
