Dole Plantation is a popular family-friendly tourist attraction and is uniquely Hawaiian. I suggest visiting Dole Pineapple Plantation at least once. It offers a train ride that tours around the plantation, and a lot of kids ride it.
There are also the Plantation Garden Tour and the Pineapple Garden Maze.

It is quite far away from the "main Honolulu", but it's worth the car drive. You get to see all the Hawaiian scenery, as well.
There is a large gift shop with a bunch of pineapple goods and snacks. I personally love their soft-serve pineapple ice cream, loaded with chopped pineapple. It's so refreshing!
During my recent visit to Dole Plantation, I purchased a shark stuffed animal (Sharka Pine) - it wasn't around the last time I visited here several years ago, I think. The fat yellow shark is so cute!
