I finally bought a handbag insert from 7 Rue Paradis, and I couldn't be happier.
7 Rue Paradis (7RP) has a cult-like following among fashionistas, influencers, and bag collectors, and I've actually known about its inserts for quite some time.
But for the longest time, I didn't think investing in a high-quality bag insert was worth it. You can find other bag inserts on Etsy or on Amazon at a fraction of the cost, and they function exactly the same as the 7RP ones, right? WRONG! Once you see the inserts in person and touch the fabric, you'll be pinching yourself for not buying one sooner.
The shipping was prompt, and the insert was packaged really nicely. I loved everything about this purchase, not to mention the quality of the insert was superb.
7RP was founded in 2016, and every single bag insert is handmade at its atelier in France. From the cutting of the fabric to every single stitching that shapes the insert, 7RP strives for perfection. And its products show skilled craftsmanship and expertise.
All 7RP inserts are made of Alcantara, a soft, suede-like microfiber material that is noted for its durability and softness. Alcantara actually refers to the brand name that manufactures the said synthetic material. It is commonly used as a substitute for leather and vinyl in vehicle interior trim. But 7RP uses it to make handbag inserts!
My L' Insert for Picotin is in Graphite color, size 18.
You can also choose the size of your handbag, so the insert fits like a glove.
Currently, 7RP makes inserts for most Hermes, and select Dior and Chanel handbags.
The insert comes with a puffy pillow made with wrinkled tissue paper.
It keeps the insert from losing its shape or being misshaped during transit. I intend to keep this pillow and put it inside the insert in case I'm not using the bag, so the insert and the pillow combo keeps the bag from losing its shape.
L' Inserts can be machine washed in cold water. You just need to air-dry it upside-down.
When maintained properly, the inserts are supposed to last for decades.
The stitchings are so good!
Not a single loose thread hanging out.
The insert has a wide open space in the middle and side pockets throughout.
I anxiously put the insert into my bag, and voila! It fits PERFECTLY!
The insert keeps the shape of my bag nicely as well.
The color Graphite is a very close match, and the insert doesn't add too much weight to the bag, either.
It might be a different story in heavier bags like Birkins, though.
But for my Picotin, it's perfect.
The insert protects the bag from dirt, dust, and other accidental spills from use.
I've seen way too many ruined handbags from opened lipstick and pens!
I now believe high-end, designer bags need equally high-quality inserts.
It was totally worth it, and I'm now considering purchasing more for my other handbags.
