I finally bought it!

I finally bought my dream luggage that I've been eyeing for months. My Tumi luggage has been slowly deteriorating and breaking down from years of traveling. The rough tossing of luggage handlers did not help. It was about time for me to get new luggage, and I couldn't be happier with my new Rimowa Classic.

Currently, Rimowa has 6 different types of luggage in its collection.

The Original and Classic are what most people recognize as the "classic Rimowa", as they are made of aluminum.

Aluminum luggage has the advantage of being ultra sturdy and strong; however, it also comes with several disadvantages. Aluminum cases are heavier than Rimowa's new lineup made of polycarbonate and are prone to dents. A lot of people opt for polycarbonate Rimowa luggage because of those, especially when they're shopping for checked luggage; however, the alluring beauty of the aluminum case convinced me enough to get the Classic.

It comes in a sturdy and thick Rimowa canvas bag.

You can use it to store the luggage when it's not in use.

I bought the Classic Trunk, which is the largest in the Classic lineup.

The trunk measures 29.5" x 14.2" x 18.5".

The leather handles, name tags, and wheels can be replaced with different colors at an additional cost.

These were the options available. So pretty.

Appearance-wise, the riveted high-gloss aluminum corners set the Classic apart from the Original.

Although it is certainly a personal preference, the shiny chrome corners add a polished and sophisticated accent.

The trunk has 2 handles - one at the top and the other on the side.

Rimowa thoughtfully added luggage feet on both sides as well, so the aluminum case won't scratch the flooring no matter how you land the luggage. The feet also prevent the luggage from getting dirty.

Rimowa's Classic Trunk is equipped with TSA-approved locks, and the retro design is very well executed, in my opinion.

These TSA-approved locks can be opened by the TSA security agents during baggage checks without causing any damage to the luggage. It is a pretty standard feature among luggage; however, the retro design looks so good with the Classic Trunk.

Here's the inside look at the trunk -

The inside is very spacious and is divided into 2 large, open sections.

The top section is shallower than the bottom section, which makes lifting the top easier.

Both sections come with Flex Dividers with velcro and mesh zipped compartments.

Rimowa's luggage is made in Germany.

The inside is lined with polyester fabric, which is easy to wipe down for regular maintenance.

The zippered mesh compartments are ideal for storing flat items like documents.

You can tighten the contents using velcro extenders so that the luggage closes easily. The Flex Dividers also keep the contents from falling out or moving around.

Upon purchase, you get a complimentary sticker, along with an instruction manual for setting/resetting the passcode.

Many people say Rimowa luggage lasts decades, and its craftsmanship and quality show even after years of usage. I'm looking forward to many cherished trips with my new Classic Trunk.
