Byredo Cotton Poplin Scented Candle

Covid-19 is seriously changing the way we work, entertain and interact. I’m sure many people are homebound like myself, and I wish to share my favorite scented candle with those who’re looking for a little something to boost their mood. Personally, nothing helps me unwind and relax as much as good scented candles. I use them almost daily from lazy Sunday mornings to wine nights snuggled by the fire. The sumptuous fragrance, ambiance, and the instant warmth the lit candles provide are some of the few reasons why I’m such a huge candle hoarder.

I cannot recommend Byredo’s Cotton Poplin enough.

It’s such a clean, fresh scent that I find it simply irresistible.

Many cotton/linen scents in the market are rather artificial or too strong. I expect the linen scent to be present but never overpowering. It’s supposed to be a clean laundry scent that feels fresh and comforting. And Byredo’s Cotton Poplin delivers just that – only much more elegant and sophisticated. The throw isn’t too strong, but it’s enough to fill a room. This subtle scent surrounds a room without being obnoxiously present.

This is my second purchase of Cotton Poplin because I loved it so much. All Byredo candles (or his products, I may say) come in beautiful, chic bottles. This candle jar is no exception. The black glass jar is of substantial weight and quite thick.

I keep empty candle bottles that are pretty, and all of my Byredo candles are staying.

The empty Byredo candle jars make great pencil holders.

The candle comes in a thick, white cardboard box. Inside, the 8.5 oz candle jar nests, waiting to be lit and appreciated. The candle comes with a paper cover to keep dust from settling on the wax – a thoughtful detail many high-end brands seem to neglect.

Like all scented candles, I suggest you keep the wick trimmed every time you light the candle. The properly trimmed wick ensures even burning and helps reduce the risk of fire. You can use any wick trimmer. Byredo sells a chic, black wick trimmer if you want to go all matchy-matchy. I can’t comment on it because I’ve never used it before. I use a wick trimmer from Diptyque that I got before. It functions just as great as the day I unboxed it.

Yes, I light up different candles depending on my mood, but Cotton Poplin is the one that I reach the most. I believe one’s home is supposed to be a comforting place where he or she can unwind and relax, and the fresh cotton scent embodies such sentiment. Once you try it, you wouldn’t want to be without it. I hope this soothing scent elevates your mood a bit and makes home quarantine a little more enjoyable. Stay safe, everyone!

Once you’ve finished the jar, you can reuse it as a pretty storage jar.
