This steamer insert is a must-have accessory to my Fissler pot, and I recommend this to anyone who's thinking about buying a pot/steamer combo.
Fissler's steamer is available in 2 sizes - 8" and 10". Mine is in 10", and it fits my 6.7 quarts stock pot.
The steamer sits on top of the pot - you fill the pot with water, place the steamer, and it's ready to steam some food!
The steamer does not come with a lid; however, you can reuse the pot's lid, and they fit perfectly.
The whole steamer is seamless like other Fissler's Original-Profi cookware, and it's made of durable stainless steel.
The handles on both sides feel sturdy and convenient. The steamer is literally another Original-Profi pot with holes on the bottom.
Unlike some cheap steamers, Fissler's Original Profi steamer has a flat bottom, so you can add more food items without bunching them. I really appreciate this wider and flatter surface area as my dumplings always slid down to the middle when I was using a sloped steamer.
The grooves that fit inside the pot feel smooth and elegant.
I'm going to be steaming some Japanese sweet potato.
The 10" diameter fits so much!
I added plenty of water to the pot (too little water can scorch the pot if you steam for too long) as I need to steam the sweet potato for half an hour. So useful and functional.
