At the WestEdge Design Fair, I was introduced to Green River Fossil Company, a custom furniture and art company that showcases real fossils!
When I saw these cool art pieces, murals, and furniture, I didn't think the fossils were real.
Green River Fossil Company uses fossil-rich calcium carbonate shale in Southwestern Wyoming as its medium to create these wonderful works of art.
The stone was deposited 50 million years ago as sediment in a large freshwater lake, and Green River Fossil Company uses it to produce various fossil murals, stone furniture, and other stone products.
These murals come in all sizes!
And you get a glimpse of the species that lived millions of years ago, fossilized and preserved. This framed vertical mural contains a 2" dragonfly.
I liked this round dining table that was on display.
The historic fossil slab adds character to an otherwise ordinary round table!
This fossil fish mural showcases an array of Green River fossil fish. You can get an individual mural or purchase a set of three for a more grandeur and impressive display.
Besides the round table, I also liked this coffee table.
The table measures 48" in length, it will be a centerpiece and a conversation opener.
This mural features an organic and irregular shape, therefore heavier on an artistic aspect.
If you're looking for an art piece on a corner, consider this sculpture. The representative from Green River Fossil Company suggested placing it on a pedestal and displaying it as an art piece.
You can start your collection small, too. Green River Fossil Company has smaller blocks for people who are just starting their fossil collection.
These are fossil blocks.
I was really tempted to get this drink table, as it was the perfect size for drinks by the couch!
There are so many other sculptures, murals, and furniture, so if you're interested in fossil arts, check out Green River Fossil Company. It also offers custom interior designing services.
