Anyone who’s interested in modern home interiors must’ve seen this iconic clock from Spain. I fell in love ever since I first laid my eyes on it, and it’s been on my wish list for months! I finally got it when we moved to a new house, and I’m over the moon about it.

This iconic clock from Nomon is available in 3 sizes – Barcelona, Mini Barcelona and Micro Barcelona.

The Barcelona clock is the largest of 3 sizes, measuring 90cm in diameter. Mini Barcelona measures 66cm in diameter and Micro Barcelona measures 42cm in diameter.

I got the original Barcelona, and while I was shopping online, I got to learn a great deal about the brand Nomon and its ever-famous Barcelona. Nomon introduced the Barcelona clock 17 years ago, and it quickly won many interior enthusiasts’ admiration. Barcelona clocks are sold in over 80 countries, solidifying its position as a luxury timepiece in multiple interior settings, including public spaces, offices, and homes. Each Barcelona clock is handcrafted in Spain with a German mechanism for precision.

The clock retails for $1,200.00 in the United States. True, it’s rather pricey, and I waited months until I decided to splurge. But when I saw the clock in person and installed it on the wall, I realized the purchase was so worth it.

The clock is packaged in a long cardboard box, and the parts are securely nested on the soft padding to keep the contents safe during transit.

I made sure to take out all the parts.

The walnut pieces have slightly different grains, showing natural grains.

The installation manual is included in the packaging, as it requires installation.

I was impressed with the thorough installation instructions. The box included easy-to-follow instructions along with illustrated pictures. I also watched its Youtube video from Nomon, and it greatly helped with seamless installation. It’s surprisingly easy to put together. I suck at installations, so I usually leave them to my husband; however, I was able to put this clock together myself without any help. The clock is lightweight, which was one of the reasons I was able to hang it myself, as well. You will need a drill and a flat head screwdriver. Nomon gives you 2 sets of anchors and screws as spares, in case you need to move the clock to a different location.

This wall clock is constructed with a double-ring structure in black fiberglass and walnut case and hands. Its minimalistic design void of all unnecessary ornamentation is nothing short of boring or mundane. The elegant and flowy outer rings are so artistic and beautiful. I’ve been admiring the way these fiberglass rings bend like a resilient bow. You will fall in love with the craftsmanship of this clock, especially once you see it in person.

It’s a quite large clock, so I believe it looks best when the whole wall is dedicated to it – no other wall treatments or picture frames.

So elegant and ethereal!

Nomon recently added a silver pin on the back, so the clock stays straight and steady. The older version didn’t include this pin on the center back of the clock. I cannot comment on how the old version was because I’ve never owned one, but I’m guessing it might’ve been a little unsteady. The new version mounts to the wall the same way as the old version but now includes the silver pin for added stability.

I’ll be appreciating this clock for years to come.
