Gubi's Beetle Dining Chair has quickly amassed a cult-like following since its introduction to the world in 2013. Indeed interior designers and homeowners rave about its organic form and unparalleled comfort backed by endless design configurations.

I am one of the proud owners of the Beetle chairs, and I can say from my personal experience that they are so comfortable and timeless.

I've had the Beetle chairs for years, and they are going to stay for many years.

As the name suggests, the chair was inspired by a beetle. A hard yet supple outer shell sits on thin legs, reminding you of a classic beetle.

The Beetle Chairs were designed by GamFratesi, who was "captivated by the idea of translating the form of a beetle into a product for the home".

When designing the Beetle chair, GamFratesi paid close attention to the chair's micromovements for ergonomic comfort and maximum performance. GamFratesi echoed the structure of the beetle's exoskeleton and constructed the two-part shells for the chair.

The two shells are constructed so that they can enable micromovements that respond to the sitter's movements and posture.

The chair is indeed very comfortable. I've sat on other popular dining chairs, including BoConcept's Ottawa Chair, Fritz Hansen's Drop, Ant, and Series 7 Chairs, but none came close to the Beetle's comfort.

The Beetle Chair is available in several variants, from the basic un-upholstered to fully upholstered, and some in between. My Beetle chairs are the un-upholstered version, and they are great for those with young children.

The fully upholstered chair offers the ultimate comfort and volume.

And there are endless fabric choices!

The front upholstered Beetle chair is unique and offers the benefits of both the fully upholstered and un-upholstered versions. It has a 3D molded veneer shell that harnesses the original Beetle vibe while providing exceptional comfort.

The oak and American walnut wood veneer front upholstered chairs are the latest iterations of the Beetle chair, and I am speechless!

This American walnut veneer paired with plush fabric reminds me of the Eames chair by Herman Miller. The veins on the walnut wood highlight the striking natural beauty of the material.

I bought these dining chairs a couple of years ago, and I remember being impressed with the quality of the packaging.

The chairs come fully assembled, so you just have to carefully unbox them.

This chair is in the New Beige finish. The un-upholstered version is available in 8 finishes. I also own the Sweet Pink colored chairs.

The New Beige and Sweet Pink finishes look great together. I was hesitant to mix two colors, but I'm so glad that I did. Had I gone with just the New Beige chairs, my dining room might've looked a bit monotonous.

The thin yet sturdy legs can also be customized. You can choose from several metal finishes, or you could go with wooden legs that are thicker.

In my opinion, while beautiful, the wooden legs diminish the design aesthetics of the chair.

You can find the Gubi mark on the bottom of the outer shell.

The chairs pair phenomenally with Gubi's Moon Dining Table. I will do a separate post on it because it's also a piece of art.

Although the Beetle chairs are relatively new, they have become a modern design classic.
