Knoll’s Saarinen coffee table has been my dream coffee table for almost a decade. I couldn’t justify buying one when I was hopping from one apartment to another every year, though. Now that I’m more settled down and stable, it was the perfect time to invest in a quality item that has been on my wish list.
I decided to get 2 tables – one 42” oval coffee table and another round table, so I can bunch them together and create a more visually interesting space. Knoll’s round side tables come in different height configurations, so you can play around with them.
You can customize the base and top of the table. The base is available in 2 colors – white or black, and the top has 5 options – white laminate, black laminate, arabescato marble (shiny or satin) or carrara marble (shiny).
For the main table, I got the arabescato marble in satin finish.
It’s the most sophisticated and gorgeous matte marble. The veins are visible and present, but they don’t feel crowded. The tabletop showcases the beauty of the marble, and the satin finish feels so nice to the touch. I’ll have to be careful not to spill anything on this precious marble!
And as for the side table, I got the 20” Saarinen Outdoor Side Table.
Made of outdoor-appropriate materials and all-weather hardware, this side table can double as an outdoor side table. It’s easy to carry out whenever I need to, and it was worth the extra cost.
I chose the white color for both bases.
Everything came fully assembled, and the tables are heavy.
Interestingly, my new kitchen backsplash and countertop are finished in a very similar marble. I clearly have a preference that I gravitate toward. From the kitchen to my living room, these marble accents create this visually organic flow and tie the rooms together. I will cherish these tables for years to come. Totally worth the wait.
