My yoga instructor swears by the Manduka Align straps.

Her studio is already equipped with the straps, so I was able to “test drive” them before getting one for myself. If you’re in the market for a new yoga strap, I recommend the Align straps. Although they are pricier than the straps you’ll find at Walmart, you won’t regret purchasing them.

Many yoga straps I’ve seen are made of synthetic materials that are prone to slipping. They are not as absorbent as cotton, either. I was really glad to discover the Align Yoga Straps are made of unbleached natural cotton.

No matter how sweaty I get, I can easily hold poses without slipping. Washing the strap has been easy. I don’t put it in a washer because of the buckle. I soak it in a bucket of soapy water and hand wash it.

The Align strap features a lightweight Zinc Alloy buckle for a strong, secure hold. The buckle doesn’t make that annoying metal noise, thank god. The buckle is nothing phenomenal, but for a yoga strap, all I’m looking for is a quiet and supportive buckle. The fastening mechanism securely locks in the strap, so I can fully concentrate on the pose.
