I came across Officine Universelle Buly 1803 during my recent trip to Seoul, South Korea. To be honest, I’ve never heard of this brand before, but I fell in love with the packaging! I know I sound vain, but it’s the little things that make me happy, ha! Throughout the post, I’ll refer to the brand as Buly.
I bought the hand cream and lip balm on my way back as they were best sellers. Packaged in their signature Buly packaging, they remind me of the heightened days of French monarchs.
The official product name from Buly is “Pommade Concrète”, but it’s basically hand cream.
The Pommade Concrète is infused with a rich shea-butter base, sesame oil (for its regenerative and restructuring properties), and beeswax (which is known to mollify the skin).
It is indeed rich and thick cream – you only need a small amount. It takes a while for the cream to sink in, but once fully absorbed, my hands feel so smooth and soft. The texture is closer to balm than a cream.
It is also fragrance-free.
This lip balm (Baume Des Muses) is so popular in South Korea right now.
What’s amazing about this lip balm is that the case is fully customizable. You can have your initials embossed on the cover of the lip balm, which is lined in vegetable leather.
I bought the Louvre collection lip balm because I purchased it at the airport duty-free, but if I’d had a choice to personalize, I’d have certainly done so.
The balm comes with a cute velvet pouch, and it’s so freaking cute.
Made with hydrating, repairing, and protective plant-based ingredients, the balm keeps my lips moisturized without making them feel greasy or heavy.
It will also make a great holiday present or a stocking stuffer, especially with personalization.
I was saddened to discover that currently, there are only a handful of Buly stores in the world and that there is no US market. As of now, Buly has stores in Paris, Hong Kong, Kyoto, Londres, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Osaka, Milan, and Munich. Fortunately though, Buly online store ships worldwide.
I regret only buying the hand cream and lip balm because I’m now obsessed with Buly. I’d love to try the body care products in the future.
