Orijen’s newest formula, Fit and Trim dog food is a well-balanced diet for dogs who are overweight and therefore need to manage weight more effectively. I always trust Orijen for nutritious and healthy kibble, and my dog was on Orijen Original ever since he was a puppy. He is now mature (11 years old), and he’s gained a few pounds on his waistline. I switched to Fit and Trim, and he’s doing amazing on it. And I can see him slowly losing weight.
The food is ideal for all breeds and all life-stages.
Overweight dogs still need high protein levels so they can develop muscles and convert calories to energy. Orijen’s Fit and Trim is rich in protein (42%) and low in carbohydrates, so the dogs can stay lean and healthy.
Each 8oz cup has 402 kcal. And other nutritional information are printed on the bag, along with the complete list of ingredients.
Although the diet is intended for weight management, it doesn’t look like it's tasteless. My dog finishes his food and doesn’t pick on this food. And he’s not one of those I’ll eat everything kind of dogs, either. I do find the color of the kibble to be lighter compared to the Original, but it’s a different formula so understandable.
Once he is back to his ideal weight, I intend to increase the daily ration so he can maintain the weight.
I wholeheartedly trust Orijen, and their prices are totally justifiable.
But still, I would strongly welcome some price decrease or discount, haha!
