I can't believe I just discovered this pet store! 

I spotted The Urban Pet while I was picking my dog up from the vet last week, and I decided to get some special treats to cheer her up. My dog doesn't like going to the vet. I went in, and I was immediately greeted by friendly staff and this serene koi pond.  

I love koi, and I was surprised at how friendly they were! 

There was a nice assortment of pet products, and their display was intuitive and welcoming. It felt more personal than big box stores like Petco or Petsmart. 

I left the store with the following - some stuffed toys, antlers, and rawhide. 

The antler should last me a while, and the No Hide Dog Chew seemed really appetizing. 

Most hide chews are chicken-flavored, and I don't think I've seen salmon-flavored hide chews. And they were a huge hit! She was so content and happy. I'm definitely going back for more. 

The No Hide Dog Chews are made with simple and wholesome ingredients - brown rice flour, banana powder, olive oil, eggs, pineapple stem, and agar-agar (plant-based gelatin). And as for the flavors, there are wild-caught salmon and humanely-raised beef or bacon & cheese. 

My dog's really picky about her toys - they need to fit inside her mouth perfectly. 

If they are too small or too bulky, she abandons them quickly. This was slightly on the larger end of her ideal toy size, but it was still acceptable. 

So squeaky and fun! 

This was the most ideal toy size for my dog. It fits inside her mouth nicely, so she can carry it around everywhere she goes. And of course, it was an instant success. She grabbed it and took it to her bed. 

The haul from the Urban Pet was a huge hit and definitely cheered my dog up.
