Sisley-Paris Hair Rituel Shampoo and Conditioner

I consider myself a bit of hair connoisseur and have tried so many products over the years. I’m a hair stylist, so I do get a lot of freebies and sponsored products, but Sisley-Paris’ hair care products are top notch. I’ve tried various well-known high-end hair care brands like Oribe, Moroccan Oil and Aveda; however, they don’t even come close to Sisley. I state that this post is not sponsored by Sisley or its affiliates, and I purchased the products.

Sisley-Paris is a prestigious skincare brand that has a cult-like following, and it carries a separate haircare line called “Hair Rituel” by Sisley. It offers only a handful of products, but each and every one of them is phenomenal. The entire line of products smells heavenly. I wish you can smell my hair because I just washed my hair, and it smells so fresh and pleasant.

Sisley offers 4 types of shampoo –

Color Perfecting Shampoo with Hibiscus Flower Extract

Revitalizing Volumizing Shampoo with Camellia Oil

Revitalizing Smoothing Shampoo with Macadamia Oil

Revitalizing Straightening Shampoo with Moringa Oil

Each shampoo targets a specific hair concern – preserving color, maximizing volume, smoothing and straightening. And each formula contains different oil since each oil contains different properties. I have thin hair, so naturally giving volume to my roots has always been a priority.

What I love about this volumizing shampoo is that it doesn’t make my hair brittle and dry. So many “volumizing” shampoos dry out my hair, and if you’ve been unhappy with most volumizing shampoos in the market, you’ll be pleasantly surprised with this.

I peruse each product’s ingredient list as I have very sensitive scalp and skin, and I definitely prefer sulfate-free shampoo. I sort of gave up on fragrance because it’s close to impossible to find shampoos without fragrance (unless you use plain-old bar soap), but I’m glad to see many sulfate-free shampoos popping up, thank god. FYI, Sisley’s shampoos are all sulfate-free.

Most sulfate-free shampoos don’t lather well, so I was expecting this shampoo to be the same. Nope! It lathers incredibly well – just as well as regular shampoos! The shampoo has a sticky texture, almost like that of condensed milk. It’s still runny, so I’d be careful not to spill it by accident. It’s not a cheap shampoo. It gently cleanses without ever irritating my sensitive scalp, and it has never caused itchiness or dryness.

Sisley only offers 1 conditioner, and it can be used for all hair types.

Restructuring Conditioner with Cotton Proteins is a lightweight conditioner that supports the look and feel of smoother hair. It instantly smoothens and softens hair, and it is also great for taming dry, brittle hair. I concentrate on the ends to keep split ends to minimum, and I love the way my hair feels and looks.

This conditioner is powered by cotton proteins to help rebuild the hair’s protein structure.

Because it’s so lightweight, it doesn’t weigh my hair down unlike some heavier conditioners. The conditioner has a light and creamy texture that is thicker than the shampoo. It’s ideal for daily maintenance and upkeep, in my opinion. If you’re looking for something richer and more restorative, I recommend Oribe’s Gold Lust Mask. It smells amazing and delivers immediate results.

I gasp every time I purchase these because they’re just painfully expensive; however, they’re so worth it for me that I suck it up and buy them anyway. Some haircare products are definitely overpriced for what they really are. But I don’t regret buying these, and they really deserve all the praise and more.
