If you've been tuning into social media news lately, you might have heard about Stanley and the cult-like following of its Quencher tumblers. When new Stanley cups came out, people lined up hours before Target opened, and some got into fights over these seemingly ordinary cups. While this bizarre obsession with these insulated cups is new, the brand Stanley has been around for decades. Founded in 1913, Stanley is an American stainless steel insulating beverage and food container brand. Stanley gained momentum when teenagers and housewives started using these cups, and its Quencher, a giant tumbler with a carry handle and a straw, became the new "it" item.
This is the Quencher H2.0 Tumbler in the color Cream 2.0.
Available in so many colors, the Quencher appears to be durable and useful. Stanley releases several seasonal or limited colors, and they have been selling out super-quick!

For instance, this Lunar New Year Limited Edition Quencher H2.0 Tumbler sold out so fast! I obviously couldn't get the coveted colors, but I am happy with the color I got.
The Quencher is available in 5 sizes - 14oz, 20oz, 30oz, 40oz, and 64oz (!!!). If you're out or on the road all day, maybe the 64oz size is the way to go; however, if you're a regular commuter, the 30oz or 40oz tumblers are plenty. Mine is in 30oz.

One of the nice things about the Stanley Quenchers is that despite their large capacity, they are cup-holder compatible. Sizes up to 40oz will comfortably fit most car and truck cup holders, so you can quench your thirst no matter how on-the-go you are. The base diameter is 3.15 inches.
I've used a fair number of insulating tumblers over the years, but I like Stanley's lid and straw the best.
Stanley's patented FlowState™ 3-Position Lid rotates to the straw opening, drink spout opening, or closed state. And I like how the straw opening grips onto the straw more securely than the simple hole most tumblers with straw lids have.
You can purchase extra straws for the Quencher.
Just make sure to check the size - the straws for the 40oz will be too long for the 30oz Quencher!
The large comfort grip handle is so great when I'm sipping coffee while driving or working. The Quencher is probably not the best tumbler if you intend to carry it in the backpack as it has a handle and a straw; however, for everyday use, it's a very well-designed tumbler. Besides, it's $35 - significantly cheaper than other quality thermos cups like Yeti or Hydroflask.

Every Quencher is made with BPA-free, 90% recycled 18/8 stainless steel. It has exceptional insulating properties while being sustainable. Stanley claims its Quenchers keep cold drinks cold for 9 hours and hot drinks hot for 40 hours.
Even with the double-wall vacuum insulation property, the Quenchers are dishwasher safe. So often vacuum insulated drinkware is hand-wash only. Honestly, who has the time to hand wash the tumbler after a long day?
I bought the Quencher on a whim, but I was surprised to learn that it was far more useful and functional than I thought. I can see why so many people want the Quenchers.
