I don’t usually use primers because I think they do nothing. Well, at least that’s what I thought. I’ve sampled a dozen or more primers in the market that are well known via word of mouth or bestsellers; however, I was always left under-impressed. One of the beauty Youtubers I follow spoke so highly of this product, and I finally gave in and decided to give it a try.

There are multiple types of primers to choose from depending on your skin concerns – enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, or overall dryness, to name a few. Tom Ford’s Illuminating Primer is amazing at evening out skin tone and giving my skin a subtle glow that lights within. It has a beautiful pearly sheen that radiates and when applied, it illuminates my skin as no other primer can.

According to Tom Ford Beauty, this Illuminating Primer restores the luminosity and vitality of one’s skin and brings out a smooth and nourished complexion.

It is manufactured in Belgium for Tom Ford Beauty.

The bottle is so luxurious, like all Tom Ford products. He is one of my favorite designers, and his beauty products are nothing short of sophisticated.
It features a twist-open mechanism. When you turn the top cap clockwise, the pump rises up. And turn the cap counterclockwise when done. I frequently forget to “close” the pump because I’m always in a hurry in the mornings; however, it shouldn’t dry the product or anything like that because it’s essentially a pump. It does come in super handy when I’m traveling though. Nothing leaks accidentally!

Some reviewers comment that this primer smells awful, and I say whaaat? I’m confused because I can’t detect any noticeable scent.

I use Tom Ford’s cushion foundation, and when I use the primer, the foundation goes on smoothly and sets onto my skin much better. It seems to last longer, too. I also used the primer under other brands’ foundations, and it creates such a beautiful glow! I’ve gotten so many compliments on my skin every time I wore the Illuminating Primer. It has convinced a non-believer to swear by primers. I highly, highly recommend it!
