A Wooden Turtle Sculpture from Chief's Luau Show

I bought myself this souvenir in Hawaii a few weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier with it. A turtle is my favorite animal and a small gift shop next to Chief's Luau show was selling these intricately-carved wooden pieces.

My friends and I went to Chief's Luau show, an authentic and traditional Polynesian dance and fire show. It was really highly rated on TripAdvisor, Google, and Yelp, and the reviews were so true. The show was mesmerizing, fun, and spectacular.

I was going to "just browse" the gift shop section while I was getting my drink, but I ended up buying a wooden turtle sculpture because I was actually really impressed with the craftsmanship of it.

The intricate carvings on the side of this sculpture were so cool, and it looked like a functional piece.

It could work as a snack bowl or a valet for car keys or TV remote controls.

There were several other turtle sculptures, but I liked this one the most. I liked the carvings, colors, and the size.

The price was moderate and reasonable, in my opinion. This solid wood piece was $150. The larger ones were slightly more expensive ($170-200 range), but I thought they were reasonably priced, as well, especially considering they were hand carved and solid wood.

I love how I can actually use it in the house, unlike so many souvenirs I impulse buy.

The show and souvenir are surely going to be remembered for many years to come.
