My family has switched to eco-friendly household cleaners, so we won’t inhale any harsh chemical fumes. We initially started with Mrs. Meyer’s, a brand that is now so prevalent that can be found in any grocery store aisle. It seemed like most people love Mrs. Meyer’s scents; however, I was not one of them. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of Mrs. Meyer’s Basil, Bluebell or Lavender scents that my store carried, and I love lavender-scented anything. To me, those scents felt a bit off and old (like they had gone bad). I ordered a couple Better Life cleaning products from iHerb, and I’m so pleased with them.

These are what I got – Tub & Tile Cleaner, Floor Cleaner, Glass Cleaner and Toilet Bowl Cleaner. And they are everything I can expect from household cleaners. They smell amazing, are made of eco-friendly, plant-derived cleaning agents and perform just as effectively as harsh chemicals.

First, Tub & Tile Cleaner.
Bathroom cleaning is probably my least favorite chore of all, mainly because it involves so much scrubbing, bending over and mildew. Scrubbing shower tiles with piled-on soap scums and mineral deposits is definitely time-consuming, labor-intensive and downright annoying that I want to procrastinate as much as possible. But I also know that the longer the wait, the harder the scrubbing is going to be.

Better Life’s Naturally Bathroom-Brightening Tub & Tile Cleaner makes the chore a lot more bearable (and when I’m in a good mood, I actually get to enjoy cleaning). Unlike some tile cleaners, it comes with a foaming spray nozzle, so that it clings to the tile wall and surfaces better.

I spray the cleaner liberally around my shower enclosure, scrub some visible mildew or soaps, and then rinse. It also works great on bathroom fixtures and hardware. It is safe for use on ceramic, porcelain, stainless steel, fiberglass, acrylic and chrome surfaces. However, it cannot be used on brass, wood, marble or granite. I stress marble or granite, which are two common bathroom vanity materials.

It is scented in tea tree & eucalyptus, which I find so soothing and pleasant. In my opinion, it is far superior and pleasant than those of Mrs. Meyer’s.

Then, there is the Glass Cleaner.

Nobody likes the ammonia smell that is distinct to glass cleaners. Better Life’s Naturally Smudge-Smacking Glass Cleaner removes all traces of smudges, grease or dirt only using plant-derived cleaning agents like corn, coconut and palm kernel. Unlike the Tub & Tile Cleaner, it is unscented, and it doesn’t contain ammonia, SLS, alcohol or all the other nasty stuff.

You’ll notice that the spray nozzles for the Glass Cleaner and the Tub & Tile Cleaner are different. The Glass Cleaner doesn’t have a foaming spray nozzle. Instead, it dispenses the cleaner evenly without any messy drips.

Finally, the Toilet Bowl Cleaner.
I didn’t mind using toilet bowl cleaners with Clorox because 1) it was cheaper, and 2) I didn’t think harsher chemicals mattered because I don’t come in contact with the liquid. I squeeze some toilet bowl cleaner and leave it on for a few minutes to properly sanitize the bowl before flushing. And one day, I left the bathroom door closed after I squeezed the Clorox cleaner. When I came back to the bathroom, the smell was suffocating and so harsh. That’s when I decided to look for gentler toilet bowl cleaner.

Better Life’s Naturally Throne-Tidying Toilet Bowl Cleaner does not create any harsh fumes but results in unbeatable clean just as great as Clorox.
It is scented in Tea Tree & Peppermint, which feels very refreshing and clean. And most importantly, it doesn’t irritate my nose!

The Toilet Bowl Cleaner has a clinging gel formula, like Clorox; however, it does not contain any chlorine, bleach, petroleum solvents, synthetic fragrances, dyes and phosphates.
It is also safe septic systems, FYI.

I wish to see more of Better Life products in grocery stores. Currently, I haven’t found any brick and mortar store that carries Better Life products, so I’ll be ordering from Amazon or iHerb; however, I cannot say enough good things about them. If you’re looking for natural household cleaners made with plant-derived ingredients because you care about your family, I highly recommend these things. So far, they are the best ones I’ve found.
