This chinchilla hay box is a must for any chin owner who wants to keep loose hay organized and prevent it from being wasted. Most small animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas defecate as they munch on hay, so if you leave hay on the ground, a lot of it will be wasted as it would be soiled. This smart hay box mounts to most chinchilla cages and keeps hay organized and elevated to keep hay waste to a minimum.
It comes with mounting hardware, so you can install it like you would install any other wooden ledges and chin cage accessories.
The top has a wide opening for easy refills, and my chins grab hay from the front, top and bottom openings.
The cute design is a bonus.
You can also use the hay box as a chin toy storage to keep various chew toys organized.
My chins have no problem grabbing the chew toys out of the box as long as they fit through the openings and are light enough to lift, haha.
