I’ve been a huge fan of Match Pewter for years, and my love for pewter items extends to dog supplies. Many of us dog owners leave the pet bowls out in the open, so it only made sense to get bowls that are aesthetically pleasing.

I’ve been using MacKenzie Childs’ pet bowls, but they had a serious design flaw for those who’re washing them in the dishwasher.

The bowls are shaped in a way that collects water no matter how carefully you position them in the dishwasher. Match Pewter’s Pet Bowls are also shaped in a similar way; however, the inner bowl is removable for super easy cleanup. This gets 100 extra points!

The base is made of sturdy pewter and is supported by 3 rubber feet. This ensures the bowl from shifting around and protects the flooring.

The inner bowl is made of porcelain enamel over steel, which is dishwasher safe. It is also considerably lightweight than other porcelain dog bowls in the market.

The pewter base needs to be hand-washed, like all pewter products. And in order to prevent watermarks, I suggest wiping the pewter base with dry clothes immediately after washing.

Also, if you order directly from Match Pewter, you can request the bowl to be engraved with a monogram, a dog’s name, or other whimsical messages.

I bought 2 large bowls, and they are perfect for my English Staffordshire Bull Terrier that weighs 30 lbs. These bowls are probably not large enough for larger breeds, unfortunately.

Aren’t they so pretty?
