Dyson had seemed to be upgrading their cordless vacuums ever so slightly in the past few years. To be honest, the improvements were not enough to convince most buyers to upgrade; however, Dyson's brand-new V15s Detect Submarine is surely going to tempt even the most frugal consumer.
Dyson's V15s Detect Submarine™ is a wet and dry vacuum cleaner, which is the first in Dyson's product lineup. There are many cordless vacuum cleaners with a built-in mop function from other brands like Samsung or LG, and I was wondering when Dyson would introduce one. And finally, here it is. In my personal experience, I was more satisfied with Dyson cordless vacuums than those from other brands, so I was really hoping for a wet and dry vacuum from Dyson.
At the time of purchase, there were 2 models available - V15s Detect Submarine™ Absolute and V15s Detect Submarine™. There is no price difference between the two, and the Absolute comes with a HEPA filter, so I opted for the Absolute.
Everything's packaged securely inside the box. You get the vacuum, 3 cleaner heads, charger, docking station, and 4 accessories.
The washable HEPA filter supports a multi-stage filtration, which is a fully-sealed filtration system that seals in microscopic dust and expels cleaner air.
The HEPA filter removes particles as small as allergens, mold spores, dust mites, and pet dander.
The built-in piezo sensor counts the number of dust particles picked up. And the suction power automatically adjusts and adapts to the level of dust detected.
I was blown away by these metrics. How intelligent is this?
Seeing the number of dust particles in real time really motivates me to vacuum more frequently, haha.
The most notable feature of the V15s Detect Submarine™ is the Wet Roller Head. The attachment comes with a drip tray to catch any soiled water from spilling when you're moving it around the house.
The motorized wet roller picks up liquids, debris, and tough stains, washing hard floors with clean water from start to finish. The mechanism is quite brilliant - the wet roller head consists of 3 components - a clean water tank, roller head, and dirty water bin. The roller head gets cleaned as it operates, and the dirty water collects into the dirty water bin. And the clean water tank ensures a constant supply of clean water. This way, you're actually cleaning the floors, instead of smearing dirty mop everywhere you go.
Whether it's a stubborn dried-up coffee stain or a fresh pet mess, the wet roller head will clean.
Each component comes apart for easy cleaning, as well.
Dyson didn't skimp on other features, either. The V15s is equipped with powerful and intelligent attachments for a clean and allergen-free house.
The Fluffy Optic™ cleaner head and the Digital Motorbar™ cleaner head with de-tangling vanes show significant improvements from the previous models' brush heads.
The Digital Motorbar™ cleaner head automatically detangles long hair or pet hair. Suitable for both hard floors and carpets, it will eliminate that annoying maintenance where you need to hand-pick a tangled ball of mess.
The Fluffy Optic™ cleaner head illuminates dust in a precisely angled light so that you won't miss the smallest dust particle. The thing with lighter-colored wood is that it hides dust quite well. The light is visible even under the brightest sunlight, and I can now see dust that my naked eyes have been missing.
The Hair Screw Tool has anti-tangle technology as well so that it picks up any hair on the couch or dog bed. This attachment comes in so handy as I vacuum my couch almost daily. It catches so much dog hair!
You must be wondering where the crevice tool is. I was wondering about that as well. And guess what? It's hidden inside the stick like this.
Genius!
Considering it's one of the most heavily used attachments, I welcome this integration into the vacuum stick.
This vacuum is so intelligent, and it is going to be a great asset to any home, but especially to households with pets and small children. It is my new best friend, and the upgrade was totally worth it.
