Kohler Artifacts Toilet Tissue Carriage

Yes, I didn’t think I was going to spend $200 for a single toilet paper holder when I was renovating this house. The builder didn’t install the toilet paper holder in the master bathroom because he was giving us the “option” to choose the one that we liked.

Our master bathroom has California Faucets installed throughout in Pewter finish, so at first, we were looking into buying a matching toilet paper holder.

We have these 2 finishes throughout, for your reference.

I love the way my California Faucets look; however, I was honestly disappointed to see their toilet paper holder offerings. They just looked flimsy and not very substantial, considering their rather high price points.

I fell in love with this toilet paper “carriage” because it was so unique and original. It’s not one of the typical holders that you can find at Bed Bath and Beyond or Home Depot.

So ornate and beautiful!

It is the most beautiful holder I’ve seen. It really elevates the look of my toilet area and decorates it like a piece of well-thought-out jewelry. Although my house is mostly contemporary and modern, I didn’t think twice to purchase this toilet paper holder because it was just so beautiful. And besides, our master bathroom has a designated toilet “room” where a toilet is completely separated, so I thought it was perfectly okay to add this traditional accessory. One of the problems with purchasing hardware from different brands is that their finishes can be slightly off, even if they are named the same – brushed nickel, chrome, etc.

For that reason, I wouldn’t have bought this holder if the toilet was out in the open because California Faucets’ Pewter finish is so hard to match. I chose the chrome finish because it matched beautifully with the bidet controller from Toto. Kohler offers 5 different finishes, and each finish has a different price.

The Artifacts™ line is Kohler’s higher-end collection with its attention to detail and craftsmanship style designs. I saw many Artifacts™ products at the Kohler showroom, and each product was literally a work of art. They were a bit too traditional for my house, but this toilet paper carriage was something that I could not pass on!

The delivery was very prompt, and the holder arrived in a larger cardboard box with lots of padding.

My husband installed this holder below our bidet controller, and he said the installation was a breeze.

He is not necessarily a handy person, but with the template that was included in the installation kit, he was able to put it up in no time. This holder can be mounted both horizontally – a more conventional way - and vertically, which is just so cool. We installed it vertically, and it is simply so beautiful.
