Glas Italia Shimmer Mirror

I have been mesmerized by Glas Italia's Shimmer Mirror for a long time. And I finally own one! 

Sure - there are other mirrors that are far cheaper and are ready for immediate delivery; however, no other mirror can create the hologram reflection that the Shimmer Mirrors create when lights shine upon them. 

This keyhole-shaped mirror is what caught my eye in the first place. This full-sized floor mirror is Patricia Urquiola's masterpiece. 

Besides the keyhole-shaped mirror (SHS03), the Shimmer mirror is available in 4 other shapes and sizes. 

The SHS01 and SHS02 Shimmer mirrors remind me of river stones I used to play with as a child. Their organic and unstructured shapes create a sense of zen and serenity. 

I got the SHS04 - a circular mirror that measures 60cm in diameter. 

The coolest thing about the Shimmer mirror is that it reflects light in the most ethereal and sublime way. I don't know how Glas Italia pulls this off, but this light reflection alone is enough to convince you to purchase the mirror. 

It took them a whole 6 months to deliver to the US, but the wait was well worth it.
