Harmony Good Dog Ceramic Treat Jar

Throughout the day, I reward my dogs’ good behaviors with treats because I believe positive reinforcement is a much better training method that is both effective and longer-lasting. For that reason, I keep multiple treat jars in the house – kitchen, living room, bedroom, and mudroom where the dogs sleep. Because the jars are always out on display, I wanted the jars to look great. But at the same time, the jars needed to have airtight lids or some kind of air-blocking mechanism to keep the treats fresh and crunchy.

This super cute treat jar was the perfect solution for my needs, and I love it so much. I found these beautiful jars at Petco, and I really liked the pristine white ceramic body and the natural bamboo lid with a silicone gasket.

Although heavier, ceramic containers are much more sanitary than plastic containers. Since I wasn’t going to be moving it around, I was happy that the jar was ceramic.

The design is simple and minimalistic.

I placed the jar on top of the console table in our hallway, and it is very eye-pleasing.

The jar comes in 2 sizes, and each size has a different illustration.

The smaller jar ($12.99) has a written illustration that reads, “Live, Love & Eat Treat”. It however was too small for my liking, so I ended up purchasing the larger size. The larger jar ($17.99) is taller and has a cute dog bone illustration and “Good Dog” imprinted.

The silicone seal effectively keeps the air out but slides out easily whenever I open the lid. The dog biscuits I store in the jar stay fresh and crunchy.

I was glad to learn that the jar was dishwasher safe – every time my dogs empty the jar, I toss it in a dishwasher to clean and sanitize. The bamboo lid, however, should be hand washed. There is no care instruction on the silicone gasket, but I’m guessing it is also dishwasher safe – that’s how I clean it.

What a cute way to store dog treats!

I’m considering getting a few more of these jars to replace all treat containers at my house.
