I got these cute ceramic houses for chinchillas from Pandamonium Pets on Etsy years ago, and they still look brand-new. 

Pandamonium Pets is a small animal rescue in Oklahoma that has a wide selection of chinchilla supplies such as treats, chew toys, and other cage accessories. 

I volunteer at a Chin Rescue, and I've been recommending this (or anything similar) to new chin parents that are adopting. 

These ceramic houses came in 3 colors - yellow, pink, and blue. I got a pink and a blue, so I could use one in his cage and the other in the playpen.

For your reference, this is the yellow one. 

It is a good size for chinchillas. My chin fits snugly in here, and he loves it. 

It will be too big for hamsters. It measures 9" tall and 7.5" wide. 

The base is flat and stable, so even if you have a climber, it is safe. 

My chin loves to sit in the ceramic house and look out the view.

This ceramic house is also great during playtime. I leave it inside the playpen so that my chin has a safe hiding spot at all times. 

He also uses it as a ledge to hopefully escape out of the playpen, haha.
