If you’ve ever had a rottweiler—or any large dog, for that matter—you know that dealing with shedding can feel like a never-ending battle. Maintaining a clean and fresh rug in a pet-friendly home can be challenging. Recently, I found a solution that has truly transformed my home: Ruggable's washable rug.

When I first heard about Ruggable, I was intrigued by the idea of a rug that I could simply toss into the washing machine whenever it got dirty. The constant shedding from my rottweiler meant that my previous rugs were constantly covered in hair and dirt, and cleaning them was a hassle. And occasional throw-ups here and there meant stained rugs. So, when I discovered that Ruggable rugs were not only machine-washable but also stain-resistant and durable, I was sold.

Ruggable is a company that offers machine-washable, stain-resistant area rugs and doormats. Their unique selling point is the two-piece rug system that includes a lightweight, removable top layer (the rug cover) that can be easily detached and machine-washed, and a non-slip rug pad that stays in place on the floor.

Ruggable collaborates with many name brands and designers, so you'll find a rug that fits your interior style.

I wanted something neutral and modern, and interestingly, I found one from Jonathan Adler. I say interesting because Jonathan Adler is known for his quirky and vibrant styles, but the Carnaby Shadow Del Sol Rug has neutral colors with geometric patterns.

This particular design is inspired by the iconic patterns and vibrant colors that are hallmarks of Jonathan Adler’s work.

The Carnaby Rug features a geometric pattern with sharp lines and contrasting colors, making it a striking centerpiece for any room. The design is playful yet sophisticated, reflecting Adler’s signature style that combines modernism with a touch of whimsy.

The rug is available in 3 colorways, allowing you to choose the one that best complements your decor. The bold design makes it perfect for spaces where you want to make a statement, such as a living room, dining room, or office. I bought the Shadow Del Sol color, a light grey color with off-white and yellow accents.

From the moment I laid down my new Ruggable rug, I noticed a difference. The lightweight rug cover attaches easily to the non-slip pad, and it stays put—even with my rottweiler’s frequent zoomies across the living room. But the real magic happens when it’s time to clean.

I ordered the cushioned rug pad for the extra support it'd provide. There are 2 types of rug pads - classic and cushioned. The standard classic pad is 1/8" thick and can be used both indoors and outdoors. The cushioned pad is much thicker - 2/5" thick, but it can only be used indoors.

The print is exactly as it appeared online.

After a week of dealing with the usual shedding, I decided to test out the rug’s machine-washable feature. Removing the rug cover was a breeze, and it fit perfectly into my washing machine. After a quick wash and air dry, the rug looked brand new. No more struggling with vacuuming or spot-cleaning; the ease of being able to just wash away all the fur and dirt is a game-changer for any pet owner.

Ruggable shares a washing guide, so be sure to refer to this guide before washing. This ensures the rug cover gets cleaned thoroughly without putting strain on the washing machine.

Thanks to Ruggable, I no longer have to stress about keeping my home clean. The rug’s stain-resistant and washable features mean I can maintain a fresh and fur-free space with minimal effort. It’s made life with a shedding rottweiler so much easier and more enjoyable. I can confidently say that investing in a Ruggable rug was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my home. If you’re a pet owner struggling with shedding and dirt, I highly recommend giving Ruggable a try. It’s more than just a rug; it’s a practical solution that keeps your home looking great, no matter how much your furry friend sheds.
