Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
How was your turkey day? Did you enjoy the meal? My family and I had a great time catching up on life and enjoyed the dinner we picked up from Bristol Farms.
We've been getting our Thanksgiving meal delivered from Bristol Farms the past few years because of Covid, and this was the first year that we went in person to pick it up.
Everything went smoothly, and we got our feast! All from Bristol Farms' Kitchen, a department that sells fully-cooked dishes because we don't have time and energy to cook from scratch!
These are what we got for dinner for 4 - a whole turkey, green beans, Brussels sprouts, cornbread stuffing, and candied yam. I was so tempted to get mac and cheese and other desserts, but we decided to keep it simple and light. Reheating turkey can be a tedious and arduous process, but the feast is well worth the wait.
This year, I got a brand-new roasting pan. I ordered it a few weeks before Thanksgiving, and I couldn't wait to try it. Mauviel's copper cookware was something I'd been coveting for years, but the tricky maintenance discouraged me from buying. The roasting pan, I thought, was manageable since I don't use it as frequently as pots and pans.
All Mauviel cookware comes wrapped in this craft paper.
This is the M150S Roasting Pan with Rack. The number after M indicates the thickness of the copper - 150 is 1.5mm, and the alphabet following the number indicates the material of the handles. S stands for stainless steel, C for cast iron, and B for brass.
The pan comes with a rack. I highly suggest getting a roasting pan with a rack if you intend to roast turkey or poultry. It makes all the difference!
This roasting pan is made of 90% copper and 10% stainless steel. Copper offers superior control and even and faster heating. The stainless steel interior preserves the taste and nutritional qualities of the ingredients. It is also much easier to clean than copper.
The polished copper is so beautiful!
The pan measures 13.7" x 9.8" and has 5.4 qt capacity.
Truly a jewel in my kitchen.
The 10-lbs turkey fits comfortably.
I added some chicken stock before putting the turkey in the oven.
I preheated the oven to 350 degrees and reheated the turkey for 2 hours. And it was time to baste it.
I've been using OXO's turkey baster for years, and it's the best.
The angled baster allows me to reach the pan and oven easily without reaching too close to them.
The baster also has an integrated rest to prevent it from rolling and smearing juices on the counter.
I increased the oven's temperature to 375 degrees and basted turkey every 10-15 minutes.
People were getting hungry about then, and the turkey looked done. I just needed to check the internal temperature of the bird.
I used OXO's Digital thermometer.
It gives you an instant and accurate reading of the meat.
Yup! Definitely done!
It was such a satisfying Thanksgiving dinner.
The sides were also huge hits. We ended up finishing all the sides we bought!
I love my new Mauviel roasting pan. It'll be a hardworking pan around the holidays for years to come.
