Oh My God. This shampoo is probably the best-smelling dog shampoo in the world. I’ve tried many dog shampoos over the years, and yes, there are a handful of pleasant-smelling dog shampoos out there – oatmeal, cherry, and lavender, to name a few. But Kiehl’s Cuddly-Coat Grooming Shampoo is hands down my favorite. If you like milky, soapy scents, the Cuddly-Coat Shampoo is quickly going to be your favorite, too.
The shampoo lathers generously but is very gentle on my dog’s skin. She gets this weird pimple-like rash whenever the new shampoo doesn’t agree with her. She hasn’t been itching, and I don’t see any rash, so it’s been working out great for her.
The Cuddly-Coat Grooming Shampoo is suitable for all dogs, and its gentle yet effective formula removes dirt, debris, and odor without messing with dogs’ pH balance.
The Cuddly-Coat Grooming Conditioner provides a longer-lasting shine between shampoos. I use it sparingly, minimizing its contact with my dog’s skin just like I’d use conditioner on my hair (concentrating on the ends, not roots). My dog has short hair, so I can’t decidedly comment on how effective this conditioner is going to be on longer hair, but it rocks. Her hair gets so soft and shiny! And now she’s ready for cuddles.
I’ve tried both shampoo and conditioner, and here are my thoughts. Yes, following up with conditioner definitely helps with your pooch’s coat. My dog’s hair was visibly shinier and felt so soft when I used conditioner after shampooing. Still, I found the shampoo to be quite moisturizing, so if your dog absolutely hates taking a bath, I’d say skip the conditioner.
