I was introduced to Lovevery by a friend who has a one-year-old baby. I'm new to motherhood and am grateful to have a friend with experience raising children. She has recommended Lovevery as a developmental aid, and having tried it myself, I'm delighted with it.
Lovevery is a subscription service that ships out a box full of stage-based play essentials for your child's developing brain.
It works like other subscription-box services, and you can get some discounts if you sign up for a year's worth of shipment.
During the first year, you can expect to receive a package every 2 months with toys and play kits focused on brain and cognitive development.
Although I'm a novice mom, I know the importance of sensory activities in the first 3 years, so I was excited to order the Play Kit from Lovevery.
I ordered the Looker Play Kit, which is recommended for 0 to 12-week-old babies.
The shipping was more than prompt! I placed an order at night, and it arrived the next day.
A box full of developmental toys for me to interact with the baby!
The Looker Play Kit contains the following:
I could tell that each piece included in the Play Kit was carefully thought out, with a child's stage-by-stage development in mind.
The shipment includes the Play Guide, which provides the "why" and "how" behind each item in the Play Kit.
The guide is loaded with expert tips, development info, and ideas for at-home activities to get the most out of the Play Kit.
Upon inspection, I was glad to discover that the materials and construction were absolutely solid.
This reversible mobile has 2 sides - the bottom can be used when the baby's younger as his or her eyesight isn't fully developed. After about 3 weeks, you can use the top side with colors.
I'm going to hang this side first, so the baby can see the black stripes.
Lovevery recommends hanging it above the diaper station to help aid the baby's visual exploration and focus; however, I hung it above the crib because I couldn't find a suitable hanger above the dresser.
Either way, my baby enjoys looking at it when he's awake.
These Sensory Links make great Play Gym and stroller accessories.
Using the turquoise links, you can connect the toys and switch them around easily.
The black and white silicone rattle is intended for grasping and learning how to track moving objects and sounds.
Aren't these mittens the cutest? The black and white mittens promote hand discovery, hand control, and body awareness. These mittens are machine washable.
I was so impressed with this wooden book!
Made with sustainably harvested wood, this book has black-and-white illustrations of animals to pique the baby's interest!
The Standing Card Holder is for tummy time.
It folds easily for storage, and it has 4 slots for you to insert black and white card sets. You can easily switch out the cards as the baby's vision develops.
Even though newborns look like they're doing nothing but eating, sleeping, and pooping (and lots of crying in between!), they explore their surroundings. They also absorb stimuli like a sponge, so to me, investing in developmental aid is imperative.
I like Lovevery's approach to stage-based developmental aid, and I love the scheduled shipments even more! One less thing to remember, brilliant!
