Last weekend, I finally installed a nursery camera. As more gadgets and supplies are being added as my pregnancy is in the final stretch, this room is really beginning to look and feel like a nursery.
I got the Nanit Pro Camera with a Floor Stand.
Nanit seemed to be the most popular choice among parents, and I liked how the Nanit camera has many features that are centered on monitoring babies. The Cry Detection feature, for instance.
The Nanit Pro Camera is available with 3 mount options - the floor stand, wall mount, and flex stand.
The wall mount seemed the be the most popular choice; however, I went with the floor stand because I wanted the portability in case I needed to move the crib.
You'd be surprised at how heavy the box is!
It is mostly the weight of the floor stand, though. The floor stand has a substantial weight to prevent it from toppling over.
Installation was really easy. Setting up the floor stand was the hardest part, haha.
You just need to connect the poles together.
Once the joints are in, they'll click and connect.
The elbow piece allows you to choose the direction of the cord, so you can direct it towards the outlet.
It is all plugged in!
Nanit takes cord management seriously because children can die from strangulation. I certainly appreciate this extra precautionary step, and what's even better is that my Roomba is not going to get caught in this cord!
Next, plug in the camera.
You'll find this connector at the top end of the floor stand.
Insert the camera into the stand, and it's all set!
The camera stays mounted very securely.
You can adjust the angle of the camera by twisting the round knob on the side of the floor stand.
I am in love with this camera.
You will need to download the Nanit app to monitor the baby.
You get a birds-eye view of the crib with no blind spots. It also detects temperature and humidity.
The resolution's crystal clear, and the app notifies you when the camera detects any motion or sound.
It also offers sleep tracking and analytics, and sensor-free breathing motion monitoring (to check the baby's alive!).
Now we just need a baby!
