I find pewter dinnerware so elegant and sophisticated, and MATCH Pewter makes the best quality pewter pieces, hands down. MATCH Pewter is known as Cosi Tabellini in Italy and pretty much everywhere else except for the United States. Weird, but they are the same company. All MATCH Pewter (or Cosi Tabellini) pieces are handmade in Italy. These are some of my most frequently used pewter pieces.
MATCH Pewter is made from 95% tin, so all of the MATCH Pewter pieces bear a 95 stamp. Unlike silver, pewter is much easier to care for, so pewter pieces are much more approachable.
I have everyday dinnerware like salad plates, dinner plates, or soup bowls, as well, but they are not as interesting as these specialty tableware, no?
First, the Gravy Boat. I use this every year on Thanksgiving, and it adds a festive and bountiful vibe to the table setting.
It is available in 3 sizes - Small, Medium, and Large.
Its flowing curves make it easy to pour gravies or sauces. It also makes an impeccable dish for salsas, if you love Mexican foods.
Technically, Match Pewter's dinnerware and flatware are dishwasher safe; however, I hand wash all my items and wipe them dry with a soft cloth to prevent any watermarks. I read from other reviewers that dishwashing slowly ruined their Match Pewter pieces as the water penetrated and seeped into the joint where the pewter and ceramic are combined. So if you can, please handwash this beautiful tableware.
Next, I have the Convivio Jam Pot with Spoon.
It is such a versatile piece. I use it to serve fig jam on a cheese platter whenever I'm hosting guests.
Although it is labeled as a jam pot, it can be used to store so many other things like honey, sugar, or other condiments.
The included spoon is so cute!
And then we have the creamer. The designers at MATCH were inspired by antique milk jugs and created this ceramic and pewter creamer.
This cute pitcher holds 6 oz of milk or cream. I like to serve fresh-made salad dressings (my favorite is Caesar!) on this creamer, and it's the perfect size!
Lastly, these cocktail forks are my recent addition.
The Gabriella Cocktail Fork comes in a set of 4. They are small but perfect for cocktail garnishes, shellfish, or hors d'oeuvres.
The quintessential Match Pewter stamps are found on the back of the forks.
I love every single MATCH piece I own. The pewter tableware is timeless, after all.
