Designed in 1977 by Vico Magistretti, the Atollo lamp has been an icon of Italian design. Oluce's Atollo table lamps have been popular for centuries and featured in many interior design magazines for their understated and aesthetic appeal. Atollo lamps are also popular among many staging companies as their geometric shapes are timeless and classic. The lamp consists of surprisingly simple geometric shapes - cylinder, cone, and hemisphere; however, it is nothing but simple or ordinary.

Atollo lamps are available in several finishes and 3 sizes.

The white lamp made of opaline opaque blown glass is the most popular and well-known, and it blends into any space, so it would be a good first Atollo lamp to own. This iconic white lamp is also available in metal.

If you want to go bolder, there are lamps made of metal or satin nickel.

These metal Atollo lamps are so chic and charismatic, and they make great statement pieces.

Depending on how you style the room, metal Atollos can look masculine, moody, and bold.

This Atollo lamp is made of satin nickel, giving a more modern and industrial look.

The Atollo table lamp is available in 3 sizes - 235, 236, and 237.

I bought the white glass 235 Atollo lamp, and it came in 2 large boxes. It requires a light assembly, and it is a fairly large piece.

The dome is the largest component of the lamp. The 235 dome measures 19.7" (50cm) in diameter.

The lamp consists of 2 parts - the base and a dome that also acts as a diffuser. Interestingly though, the Atollo lamp has 2 light sources - one at the top of the lamp base for more direct and focused light, and the other at the bottom of the lamp base for ambient light.

The metal piece at the top is where you insert the dome. And it swivels so that you can adjust the angle of the dome.

The 235 lamp takes 2 bulbs at the top of the lamp base.

The 235 lamp is equipped with a universal dimmer. Note that the smallest size (236) doesn't have a dimmer switch. The medium (237) lamp does.

The assembly is so simple!

All you need to do is insert the dome straight into the metal piece I mentioned earlier.

All set! Seeing the lamp in person is even more beautiful! The photos don't do justice. I saw a lot of Instagram ads selling replicas, but they can't beat the original.

The original Atollo lamps come with a certificate of guarantee, so be sure to keep it.

The lamp is sizable and has a bold silhouette, so I recommend the 235 in larger, open spaces like a living room or a master suite.

The opaque glass diffuses light beautifully and lights up the space without causing eye strain.

Atollo has won prestigious design awards and is a proud jewel of Oluce, one of the oldest Italian companies that produces design light fixtures. This timeless design piece will not go out of style and is here to stay for decades more.
