I’m constantly looking for fun and healthy treats to keep my chinchillas happy and entertained. They’re highly intelligent creatures, and their minds need to be stimulated constantly. I found the Enriched Life Timmy Pops from Oxbow while I was shopping for some chin supplies. I believe they’re new.

I never buy unhealthy treats for chins as they can really upset my chin’s fragile digestive system. So, anything that’s sugared is a huge no-no, along with hidey houses that are made from plastic or unsafe woods for chinchillas. I bought these Timmy Pops because they’re made with only safe and natural materials like apple wood and timothy hay.

A pack of Timmy Pops contains 3 “pops” that look like lollipops. They’re safe for all small animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, degus, and of course, chinchillas.

Oxbow makes great small animal products, so I was excited to try these as well. And my chins LOVE them! They are suckers for anything apple wood, so that’s given. They first finish the apple stick and then tackle the timothy treat. 

I believe they’re dense biscuits made of timothy. I bake chin-safe treats all the time at home using timothy/alfalfa hay and chin pellets, and the consistency and texture look very similar to what I bake at home.

It takes a long time for my chins to finish a pop, mainly because of the timothy treat. They finish the apple stick in a flash, though, haha.
